Workshops for emission-free ports and cities

The City and Port of Oslo and the C40 Green Ports Forum invites to workshops 28- 29. September to explore the role of port and city in enabling decarbonization of supply chains.

PUBLISERT: 10.09.21

Oslo aim for zero emissions. To succeed we need renewable fuels both for ships and heavy vehicles. The port is the market maker in between. Log on to Oslo Innovation Week and meet the companies and start-ups that want make this happen.

Ports connect cities across the world through trade and innovation. By working together, cities and ports can enable zero emission solutions at ports that reduce emissions from transport and supply chains far beyond the port area.

The digital workshops are part of Oslo Innovation Week and will be in English.

Programme 29. September

Role of Port and City in enabling decarbonization of supply chains - Building green corridors between Port Cities

Port cities are key global players. Ports connect cities across the world through trade and innovation. Ports and cities have the unique ability to act together on climate change, especially in their collective power to advance and accelerate the deployment of zero-emissions technologies and solutions through joint procurement commitments and policies. By working together, cities and ports can enable zero-emission solutions at ports, that reduce emissions from transport and supply chains far beyond the port area.

This session will focus on the question of how the public sector can successfully engage and incentivize the private sector through clear procurement strategy, and creative financing mechanisms.
