Norway's largest cargo port

Half of the Norwegian population lives less than three hours from the Port of Oslo. Our state-of- the-art container terminals are visited by nine container vessels every week. In total, 125,000 containers are loaded and unloaded in Oslo each year.

We are open 24 hours a day, all year round. From our efficient terminals there is easy access to the main roads and railway.

We have four container cranes (SSG cranes) and four stacking cranes (RTG cranes) that can handle up to 27 containers per hour. The container terminals are operated by private companies, while the Port of Oslo is responsible for the crane operations.

Two modern and efficient container terminals
Oslo Container Terminal AS operates the container terminal at Ormsund.

Sjursøya Container Terminal AS operates at Sjursøya.

Developing a new cargo port
All cargo arriving by container -and bulk ships- will be concentrated at Sjursøya in the future.
